Monique's Five Fanfiction Links :)

Blood Brothers
Call of Duty or COD Modern Warfare is a current video game series which ultimately is about a world at war, and follows a squad of marines whom are hunting down the man that started it all, they move through dangerous territories that would eventually claim the lives of many squad members. Blood Brothers, takes a main event from the third video game, Soap (a main character's) death and goes into more depth the emotion leading up to and after his death between two of his quad members, Yuri and Price. I really did enjoy reading this piece because it gave the event more intensity and offered the video game a real 'story' feel. There were times when reading I found the sentence structure or word choice confusing this effecting the over all flow of the piece, but apart from that I think the writer conveyed the characters emotional reactions to the event quite well.

Daylight
Gossip Girl is yet another teen drama that follows the lives of young people moving through high school and college as they try and find their way in the world, with the usual scandal making for an interesting journey. In this series like so many others their is the idea of 'forbidden love', two characters who have a divine connection but can never find the right time to make their relationship work, until one of them finds someone else. In Gossip Girl this couple is Blaire and Chuck, who in this piece of fanfiction finally find the right timing even though Blaire is with someone else. The entry point the writer used for Blaire and Chucks reunion I think was very well thought out and the overall story is very well constructed and easy for the reader to follow. However in my own opinion, the portrayal of the two characters is a bit off center as some of the things they say aren't necessarily what I think the actual characters having the personalities that they do, would say to each other, but i guess that is all apart of the beauty of fanfiction.

Little Red Riding Hood
Cardcapters is an anime cartoon that I was addicted to when I was younger, the series is about a young girl named Sakura who is given the task of capturing card spirits and placing them back in their cards. Little Red Riding Hood joins both the European fairytale and the cartoon together, placing the characters from Cardcapters into the plot of Little Red Riding Hood, but also using major parts of the culture around Cardcapters. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this unique spin on both stories, the layout was very well constructed it was concluded very sweetly. I especially liked how the author weaved between character perspectives, I think it gave the story a very creative out look.

Tazed
Wall-E is an animated movie about an old droid that is left on a decaying earth in order to restore it back to it's former glory and prove that life is able to survive there again once again, the entire human race waiting in a huge space ship circling the galaxy. Before long another bot who has is sent to check on the earths decaying progress and meets Wall-E, this beginning their adorable journey for survival. 'Tazed' is the re-written Wall-E but in human form where Wall-E is a "15 year old boy". The story began in the peek of drama, and from there the intensity remained consistent which is credit to the authors sentence structure. I also give credit to the successful transfer from bot to human, through the authors smart use of description in using the bots personalty and aesthetic qualities in constructing and developing the characters into their human forms "He was a nice-looking young man, despite the dirt smudges on his face, yellow and brown jacket with the name "Walle" on it, and his brown pants. He also had glasses that were slightly broken and bent.".

The Hands of the King
Lord of the Rings is a very popular trilogy written by J.R.R Tolkien that was eventually made into three movies. The series follows many different characters as they all ultimately work together in their own journeys to complete one main goal. 'The Hands of the King' is an extension of one these journeys, the peaceful aftermath, the love story of Aragorn & Arwen. I found this piece of fanfiction to be very professionally constructed and could be tricked into believing that this could actually be a missing chapter from 'The Return of the King'. The overall voice of the story is beautiful and it carries itself very well I especially liked how they used the elf language through out, keeping to the roots of Lord of the Rings.
